An original interactive Museum in Karpenisi presents the history and culture of Evrytania. Making the most of educational programs and experiential methods, visitors learn about the history of the area, from antiquity to modern years, as unfolding through the permanent exhibition and interactive applications of the museum.
The Culture & History Centre of Evrytania is developed in 6 halls, two of which are specially designed screening rooms. It also has audiovisual equipment of cutting edge technology. Given the above, the Museum operates like a living organism.
Its innovations include two virtual – augmented reality rooms, proudly powering unique time travel. In “Episkopi Hall” you can “visit” the Church of Episkopi, which is immersed in Lake Kremasta. In “Markos Botsaris” hall visitors can watch the “Battle of Kefalovryso”, the historic battle where Markos Botsaris lost his life.
The Permanent Exhibition entitled “The treasures of Evrytania” unfolds in two rooms, where the cultural exhibits of each period are presented.
The Museum offers its unique experience in a renovated building, fully blended in with the natural surroundings; the building once housed the Forest Service and is located harmonized with the environment, which once housed the Forest Agency and is located just 600 meters from the central square of Karpenisi.
