KRIKELLO
Krikello

It is the first village of the Municipality that we meet, after a wonderful, charming and beautiful route, among very tall firs.

On the way we meet a detour that leads to the historic site of Kokkalia, where there is a monument of the historic battle of Aetolians and Evritanians against the Gauls in 279 BC.

Almost at the entrance of the village we meet the "solinaria", seven fountains, whose crystal clear waters run uninterruptedly.

During the revolutionary period, many inhabitants of Krikello took part in the Struggle for Independence, mainly under the Gioldasaios, as well as in our later national struggles.

Arriving at the centre of the village, we will meet the large square where the imposing church of Agios Nikolaos, built in 1903 with the personal work of its inhabitants, dominates. Also, one can admire the Primary School while we can visit Kallithea with its tall poplars and the wonderful view, the forest of Arenda, Stavropidi, Koufovrasi and other beautiful places of the area.
