VELOUCHI SKI CENTRE
Velouchi Ski Centre

Velouchi ski centre is found in Velouchi, at the location Diavolotopos of Mount Tymfristos, at an altitude of 1840 metres. It offers a view of the mountains Kaliakouda and Helidona, just 12 km from the town of Karpenissi. It is one of the oldest ski resorts in the country, established and operated by private entities in 1974.

It features 18 ski slopes, divided into coloured codes for the corresponding level of difficulty and includes a black and a red slope called “Hercules”, which starts from the top and ends at the base of the lift. Two of its slopes are for snowboarding and 4 slopes are for freestyle skiing within the boundaries of the Ski Centre.

It has modern aerial lifts and is famous for the good quality of its snow and for night skiing on two of best lit-up slopes in Greece. It also features an 80-metre indoor treadmill for beginners opposite Theseus slope. Children are in for a big surprise, as the centre also has a skiing carousel slope for endless fun.

The Ski Centre offers a long period of snow cover, since the area has low temperatures throughout winter which keep the snow in excellent condition.

At the ski school, beginners will find instructors as well as ski rental equipment, snowboards, and the famous snowmobiles. The “Shop” sells ski equipment and souvenirs. The ski resort is also known for its snow bar, the “Ice Bar”, which organises great parties with DJs.

Visitors van also stay in the chalet rooms and the mountain hut, an unforgettable experience as the landscape is reminiscent of Northern Europe. The Chalet and the Snow Bar will be renovated, while barcodes will be integrated in the lifts allowing them to open automatically. Future plans also include the construction of a hotel unit.

Do not miss a visit to the alpine lake found near the facilities.
