Stretching to the south of the prefecture of Evritania, the Municipal Unit of Potamia is a semi-mountainous municipality and consists of the following municipal districts: Municipal District of Megalo Chorio, Municipal District of Aniada, Municipal District of Dermati, Municipal District of Karitsa – Karpenissi, Municipal District of Klafsi, Municipal District of Mikro Chorio, Municipal District of Mousilo, Municipal District of Nostimo, Municipal District of Sygkrello, Municipal District of Helidona.

…You will take a break at the square of Megalo Chorio and enjoy the view of the river Karpenissiotis and the peaks of Helidona, before visiting the Historical and Folklore Museum.
…You will cross the famous arched stone bridge, built during the reign of Ali Pasha, in the village of Gavros which owes its name to the namesake hornbeams that grow everywhere in the area. In the past and up to the 70s, pilgrims going to the monastery of Proussos used to make a stop here before they resumed their journey to the monastery on mules.
…You will find the confluence of the rivers Karpenissiotis and Krikeliotis, to the south of the village of Dermati. If you head southeast, you will meet the gorge of Mavri Spilia (i.e. Black Cave).
…You will explore the gorge of Vothonas, in the village of Karitsa and discover its single-arched bridge that rests on the vertical rocks of Karpenissiotis.
…You will visit Klafsi to see a unique monument of the early Christian period in Evritania dating back to the 5th-6th century AD, the Church of Agios Leonidis. The mosaic floor of excellent artwork stands out in the remains of the church.
…You will listen to stories unchanged over time, in Palio and Neo Mikro Chorio: in the church of Metamorfosi Sotiros, according to tradition, in 1823 Markos Botsaris prayed before embarking on the battle of Kefalovrysso that cost him his life; many years later, on the outskirts of the village Velouchiotis set an ambush on the Italians, at Ano Longoves the Italians retaliated by executing 13 people at the exact location where today stands a monument.
