The picturesque village that has associated its name with the Monastery of Prousos, although it lives in the shadow of the monastery, has to show other graces. It is located in the southwestern part of Evritania between Mount Panaitoliko and the rivers Krikellopotamos and Trikerioti. The famous prosciutto of Evritania is also produced here.
The village offers many activities such as mountaineering but also the opportunity to discover the gorge of Mavri Spilia or the beautiful path that starts from the place where the Stremmenos meat factory is located and ends at the Holy Monastery of Prousos.
Look for the imposing Prussia Clock just opposite the monastery to count the time on a hill. Discover the hill, which houses the church of Agios Pantos, which was built in 1754.
You will also find many watermills. Some of them are still in operation. In the paved square you will enjoy the sounds of nature and your coffee under the huge plane tree. The Agathideios library with rare publications of Leipzig and the old Katsampeio High School are two more of the sights of the village.
